Established in 2002, Pilgrim Pictures is a Singapore-based home for filmmakers exploring stories from Asia. Her first feature film, mystery drama Truth Be Told (2007), won Best Original Film at the 8th Asian Film Festival of Rome. The company also produced the award-winning narrative web series People Like Us (2016, 2019), of which the second season was nominated for an International Emmy in 2020.
In 2021, Pilgrim Pictures ventured into the audio drama space with Singapore Six (2021), a sci-fi thriller audio pilot series for Amazon Audible.
The company is developing feature film Unmother (The Malaysian Development Lab for Fiction Feature Films [mylab] 2022, Full Circle Lab Philippines 2022, ACFM 2021 – Busan Asian Film School), and short film Buah.
Jen Nee LIM
Founder
With more than 15 years’ experience in the media industry, Jen has shepherded many projects as Producer/Writer. She also had stints in film acquisition, marketing and distribution. Some of her feature film projects in development were selected for international labs and financing forums such as the Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), Europe-Asia Ties that Bind Producers’ Workshop, Co-Production Bazaar and Buchon International Fantastic Film Festival-Network of Asian Fantastic Films (BiFAN-NAFF) It Project.
The International Emmy-nominated producer for People Like Us (Season 2, 2019) now pursues her original dream of writing/directing, with a focus on Asian women and children. Her documentary short Elsa (2019) won the Special Mention Award at the 4th SeaShorts Film Festival 2020. Her narrative short The Note (2021) was selected for the 32nd Inside Out Toronto Film Festival 2022, amongst others.
She holds a BFA in Creative Producing from Chapman University Singapore and a Diploma with Merit in Film, Sound and Video from Ngee Ann Polytechnic (Singapore). She was also a 2021 fellow of the International Film Business Academy at the Busan Asian Film School.
